Wan Azizah: Anwar withdrew from polls due to sodomy conviction

PETALING JAYA:  PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dropped out of the race for party president due to his March 7 conviction, said current PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (pic).

Wan Azizah ran uncontested for the president’s post and secured a default win in the upcoming party polls after the only other candidate, Anwar, announced his withdrawal from the race Tuesday via PKR election director Datuk Johari Abdul.
