Petronas Mesra store loses RM250,000 in fire


PUTRAJAYA: About RM250,000 was lost in a fire that razed the storeroom of a Petronas Mesra store at Precint 9 here on Sunday.

Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Department chief Muhammad Hafidz Yaacob said 20 firefighters and two trucks were despatched to the scene after a distress call was received at 9.34am.

“The first batch arrived at the scene three minutes later.

“We managed to quell the flames by 10.33am,” said Muhammad Hafidz.

“A forensic team will be sent to the scene in the evening to investigate the source of the fire.

“We will be able to fully ascertain the amount of losses once investigation wraps up,” said Muhammad Hafidz.

No one was hurt in the incident.
