Injured student hiker airlifted out of Bukit Tabur

KUALA LUMPUR: A 25-year-old student is unconscious after falling into a ravine at Bukit Tabur on Tuesday.

Rescuers have reached the location where Soleha Abd Rahman, a Universiti Pertanian Malaysia student, fell about 60m down the ravine near point 10 of the trail. 

Her injuries are serious enough for the authorities to use a helicopter to lift her out of the area at about 3pm and be taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Soleha was hiking with eight friends when she slipped and fell at about 10.40am. 

A Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Amer Heizal Sahek  said rescuers reached Soleha and brought her out of the ravine at around 2pm.

He said a helicopter was dispatched from Sultan Abdul Aziz Airport in Subang to airlift the student to the hospital.

He said the woman was unconscious when rescuers got to her.
