PETALING JAYA: A 12-year-old boy who ran away from home has returned to his house in Butterworth after spending two nights in a fast food outlet in Malacca.
Guang Ming Daily reported that Ang Jia Kian (pic) went back to his family’s apartment in Bagan Jermal at around 11pm on Sunday.
The newspaper said the boy had gone to Malacca by bus and spent the night at a fast food outlet.
Jia Kian's family sought the help of the media to locate him after a closed circuit television camera footage at the apartment building showed the boy leaving home carrying a backpack at about 6am on Friday.
His mother Tan Sook Hoon, 41, believed Jia Kian was upset after being told off several times for not wanting to stay home.
The last straw appears to be an outing with the family on Thursday night when Jia Kian wanted to buy a school uniform.
His mother, however, told him he could buy the uniform the following day.
But Jia Kian insisted on buying the uniform on that same day.
