"We haven't received any complaints. My enforcement team are on the ground engaging with the people to see if any goods are going up unfairly.
"We aim to work with other agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and so on to ensure action is taken if businesses raise prices unfairly," he said at the launching of a Back to School programme here.
He also urged businesses to be considerate.
“Please help the ministry and don’t raise prices unreasonably,” he said.
On former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad’s statement that the Government should cut costs instead of raising prices, Hasan said he disagreed but respected the former premier’s views.
“We will look at Tun’s views as well as those of the public. We want the best system.”
