Cop bludgeoned to death

MALACCA: A policeman was bludgeoned to death in a scuffle with a suspected thief high on drugs at the Cheng Technology and Industrial Park here.

Thirty-one-year-old Kpl Zal-Azri Abd Somad was in a five-man team in an operation against motorcycle thefts and robberies. The group led by Inspector Zainal Mohyan arrived at the scene after receiving information that three people aged 17 to 23 years were trying to steal scrap metal from a factory.
