Varsity set to open its doors

Offering the best of UK education, University of Reading Malaysia is ready to make its presence felt in Southeast Asia.

THE countdown has begun. There are fewer than 50 days before the first students begin studying at the University of Reading Malaysia’s outstanding new campus at Educity, Iskandar in Johor.

The opening next month is the most significant milestone yet in the development of the University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) – an institution designed to bring the best elements of a United Kingdom (UK) university education to the heart of Southeast Asia.

Overseeing all the developments is the university’s provost Prof Tony Downes. He believes the new Malaysian university will offer its students a unique higher education experience.

“The University of Reading has been successfully educating international students for more than a century.

“Malaysian graduates of Reading are already leading businesses and professions, all over the world.

“Now students will be able to have the best of both worlds – the chance to study for a UK degree, taught by top academics, but right here in Malaysia,” he said.

Only the best: The varsity will combine teaching and research to make it a truly world-class institution.

However, UoRM students will still have the chance to study inthe UK. Every student is guaranteed the opportunity to spend up to a year studying at the university’s main campus in Reading, just outside London. This makes getting a UK degree and study experience more flexible, accessible and affordable than ever before.

Courses are available in a range of professional subject areas. There are foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and finance, quantity surveying, real estate, and psychology, plus English language teaching. Equally established with an international reputation is the Henley Business School MBA. There are also plans for courses in law and pharmacy.
