Post-graduate course in cyber security

BAE Systems is further strengthening its long-term commitment to Malaysia by agreeing to fund a new post-graduate programme in Cyber Security at the National Defence University of Malaysia.

The programme was developed in cooperation with the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England, and the National Defence University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, to offer a three-year Master of Science degree in Cyber Security and Management. Both universities formally agreed to the programme during a recent signing ceremony at the House of Lords in London.

The extensive programme will offer 10 specifically designed Cyber Security and Management modules delivered at the National Defence University of Malaysia each year of the programme. Each annual class can accommodate a maximum of 24 students for a total of up to 72 students over the three-year programme.

WMG chairman Prof Lord Bhattacharyya said: “I welcome this opportunity to offer our cyber security and management programme to staff at BAE Systems through our partnership.”

“This furthers our long-term strategy of continuing to develop partnerships with education stakeholders and transferring technology to Malaysia,” said Lena Gillström who is managing director of Weapon Systems Sweden at BAE Systems.
