IN 2002, a traffic surveillance system costing more than RM300mil was launched with much fanfare to gather, process and supply real-time traffic information to reduce congestion in Kuala Lumpur.
Just a few months later, the Integrated Transport Information System or ITIS, became a target for vandals and its technology soon became obsolete. Now, the equipment lies dormant, waiting to be sold for salvage.
