Photogenic nasi lemak

Fara says she would like to operate a Lava Nasi Lemak food truck.

Nasi lemak has always been one of Malaysian’s favourite national dishes, and the humble rice dish has helped many a budding entrepreneur build a successful business. Case in point: Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.

Chef Fara Hana Che Mat and husband Hasmi Abu Bakar are hoping to build their own iconic brand with Lava Nasi Lemak. Armed with their own marketing plan and using photo-sharing app Instagram to help spread the word, they have had a measure of success so far.
