PENANG Island City Council (MBPP) clerk S. Annapoorani makes it a point to celebrate the Tamil New Year with her family and in-laws every year.

“It’s important to welcome the year with hope and joy as everything we do on this day is a sign of the things to come throughout the year,” she said.
