Falling resin prices, weak ringgit lift SLP earnings to new high

Rising export: SLP’s plant in Kulim, Kedah. The company is ramping up its production of plastic packaging products in anticipation of stronger demand, especially from overseas clients.

KULIM: SLP Resources Bhd, a plastic packaging maker, is riding high as the weak ringgit and a drop in resin prices boosted its profits.

The company announced last Friday that it would pay a special interim dividend of 1.5 sen next month, as net profit in the third quarter ended Sept 30 jumped to RM9.4mil from RM3.13mil a year ago.
