Ringgit opens higher against dollar


KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit rebounded from yesterday's losses to open higher against the US dollar today on renewed buying interest, a dealer said.

At 9.30 am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.5865/5895 against the greenback compared to 3.6080/6120 on Tuesday.

Against a basket of other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly higher.

It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.6934/6966 from Tuesday's 2.6980/6028 and edged up against the British pound to 5.4393/4449 from 5.4560/4642 previously.

The local unit rose against the yen to 2.9885/9915 from 2.9989/9032 on Tuesday but slipped against the euro to 4.0090/0131 from 4.0038/0093 yesterday. - Bernama
