The prize money offered at the upcoming The International 2017 has surpassed its previous year record.
The amount up for grabs at the seventh edition of the tournament hosted by Valve, currently stands at US$20.86mil (RM89.5mil).
Last year, the tournament offered US$20.77mil (RM89.1mil) in total for winners.
However, the prize pool is expected to grow even larger, as there is 31 days to go before the end of the crowdfunding.
The International 2017 is set to take place in Key Arena, Seattle, United States from Aug 7 to 12.

The contribution comes from the sales of the tournament ticket called “Battle Pass”, starting from US$9.99 (RM43), and in-game items that can be used to decorate the game characters.
25% of the proceeds go to the total prize pool, which will be offered as prize money for the winning teams.
Eighteen of the best Dota 2 teams will be competing this year, representing the respective regions — North America, South America, China, Southeast Asia, Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) which comprises of the ex-Soviet countries.
Three teams from our side of the world — Southeast Asia, have qualified, namely TNC Pro, Fnatic, and Execration.
While there will be no all-Malaysian team taking place this time around, fans can cheer for our flagbearers “Ohaiyo” Khoo Choong Xin from Fnatic and “MidOne” Zheng Yeik Nai from Team Secret at the tournament.
The 2017 edition is expected to be the most interesting to date, given the major changes that have been taking place on and off the scene such as team disbandment, player transfers, the emergence of new teams and the expanded regions in the game to six from previously four.
