Dell has unveiled the XPS 13, a 2-in-1 convertible laptop with a 13.3in InfinityEdge screen that extends to the edge of the frame with almost no bezel.
According to Dell Malaysia field marketing manager for client solutions group, Christopher Choong, the company has managed to fit a 13.3in screen in a body that usually only accepts a 11in screen thanks to the ultra-thin bezel.
The screen is an IPS (in-plane switching) panel with a wide viewing angle of up to 170° and has a QHD+ (3,200 x 1,800 pixels) resolution
Choong said the laptop is designed to be sturdy as the chassis is made of carbon fibre and magnesium alloy, and the screen is protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 4.
The XPS 13 2-in-1 runs on Windows 10 Home and is customisable – users can choose either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB RAM and SSD (solid-state drive) for storage.
It comes standard with Intel HD Graphics 615, backlit keyboard with fingerprint reader and webcam which supports Windows Hello biometric authentication.
It also has a USB Type-C 3.1 port, Thunderbolt 3 port and microSD card reader.
The price ranges from RM6,699 to RM7,999 but if you get it before the end of the month, you’ll also get a Dell DA200 USB Type-C adaptor to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 3.0 (RM319) for free while stocks last.
