It isn't just the headphone jack that Apple dismissed at its iPhone 7 launch.
Wednesday's event may have been all about the iPhone and the Apple Watch but Apple has also been busy tinkering with the iPad.
As of today, the 16GB iPad is as redundant as the headphone jack on an iPhone 7.
Instead, the entry-level storage offered on all current iPad models, Air or Mini, is now 32GB. Also being ditched is the 64GB option, but don't panic because now instead consumers get 128GB instead.
The only device that hasn't changed is the iPad Mini 2 which is available solely with 32GB.
But as well as changes to storage capabilities, Apple has also tweaked prices, as far as its flagship iPad Pro models are concerned. The 12.9in iPad Pro with 128GB of storage on board is now US$899/RM3,655 (US$50/RM205 less) and the 256GB version is now US$999 (RM4,060) instead of US$1,099 (RM4,645). And there are similar reductions for the 9.7in iPad Pro, too – the 128GB model is US$50 (RM205) cheaper and the 256GB model is now US$100 (RM405) less.— Reuters
