Four 4k videos from the PlayStation 4 Pro presentation

One thing about livestreaming the PlayStation 4 Pro announcement was that you'd need a pretty stable Internet connection to see it in the 4K resolution that the Pro is capable of. 

Here, then, are four trailer reels from the event itself, uploaded to YouTube in 4K/2160p video (YouTube login required to access higher res). 

Horizon: Zero Dawn 

One of the stars of the Sept 7 PlayStation Meeting, Horizon Zero Dawn is the next project from Sony's Dutch developer Guerilla Games, best known for sci-fi action series Killzone which stepped onto PlayStation 4 at launch in 2013. 

 

Horizon is still sci-fi, but a different kind, set in an overgrown post-apocalyptic world where robo-dinosaurs now roam the plains. Environmental and character details are of particular note in this new trailer. A PS4 exclusive, it arrives the week of Feb 28, 2017. 

Sizzle Reel 

Fifteen games crammed into under a minute and a half make up the PlayStation 4 Pro's sizzle reel. It's mostly upcoming titles, with a smattering of existing games that will receive software upgrades to bring them into line with the Pro's 4k and HDR capabilities, depending on how developers choose to proceed. 

 

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Shadow of Mordor are joined by Rise of the Tomb Raider which comes to PS4 after a period of exclusivity on Xbox One and Windows PC. Of the new slate, clips include those from Days Gone, For Honor, Dishonored 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy XV, Watch Dogs 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Farpoint VR, and an untitled Spider-Man game. 

Mass Effect: Andromeda 

Very highly anticipated and promising a different direction for the space opera series Mass Effect, the darkened hues and lighting effects of this gameplay clip are well positioned to take advantage of HDR's breadth of colours. 

 

The game is expected on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PCs during the first months of 2017. 

Rise of The Tomb Raider 

Due Oct 11 in a 20 Year Celebration package, archaeological action adventure Rise of the Tomb Raider comes with three different settings for PS4 Pro owners, who can choose between smoother gameplay or more detailed visuals, switching between 4K and 1080p resolutions until they find their preferred mix.
