Apple sets Sept 7 date for special announcement

Increasing speculation: The iPhone's pre-release rumours include an all-in-one Lighting connector that can accept headphones, charging and connection cables.

A Sept-centric presentation event hosted by personal technology company Apple looks a likely candidate for the iPhone 7's unveiling.

"See you on the 7th," reads the invitation circulated to members of the press, which is to be held on Sept 7 at 10am in San Francisco.
