Make the Quantum leap

Samsung has launched a new range of SUHD TVs featuring a new 360° design which it claims looks good from all angles.

The new 2016 models, which includes five curved SUHD TVs and three flat TVs, use its Quantum dot technology to improve picture quality and features HDR (high dynamic range) for a higher level of contrast between light and dark.

The TV panels also use Ultra Black technology which reduces reflection.

Samsung is calling its design 360° because it has not only focused on the front of the TVs but also the back. For instance, the TVs have textured finish on the back with cleverly hidden ports.

The TVs feature Smart Hub which is powered by the Tizen operating system – it allows users to connect and control all TV applications and services via a single unified remote control.

Jimmy Tan, the head of consumer electronics business for Samsung Malaysia Electronics, said that the new range of smart TVs will automatically recognise appliances like game consoles, Blu-ray players and even the Astro decoder and automatically configure them so you can control all the devices with the TV remote.

The sizes of the TV start from 49in and go up to 88in. Prices start from RM5,999 for the 49in model and goes up to a whopping RM99,999 for the 88in version.
