Digi's new postpaid lineup sees more Internet data quota being offered and the ability to carry forward up to 9GB of data into the following month.
Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has launched a revamped lineup of its postpaid plans, offering more Internet quota and rollover of unused data.
The brand new lineup sees almost twice the amount of data offered compared to its previous plans, as well as the ability to carry forward unused data to the following month.
Starting from as low as RM28 up to the top-tiered RM238 plan, the postpaid offerings are tailored toward two usage patterns – “more Internet” or “more calls and SMS”.
More Internet
With more Internet, users who sign up before June 30 will receive up to 2GB of extra data which Digi promises will stay with the user for life.
For example, those who sign up for the Digi Postpaid 68 plan before the deadline will enjoy 6GB per month, whereas those who sign up after the deadline will only receive 4GB.
Not only that, the Postpaid 68 also allows the ability to carry forward 2GB of unused data into the next month, in addition to 150min of free calls and 150 free SMS.
“With extra Internet quota and Internet Rollover, we’re addressing today’s customer demands,” said Digi chief marketing officer Christian Thrane.
More calls and SMS
On the other hand, those who prefer more calls and SMS can take their pick from six plans on the table, starting from 500MB for RM28 all the way up to 13GB for RM218.
Some plans, like the more affordable Digi Postpaid 68, offer an increase in Internet quota (from 2GB to 3GB) as well as the ability to rollover Internet data (here up to 1GB of data), in addition to unlimited calls.
The next price tier, the Digi Postpaid 98, is very similar to the previously available Digi SmartPlan 75 plan which offered 7GB of data and unlimited calls (to three Digi friends), except it now comes with Internet rollover of up to 2GB.
Interestingly, Digi has also slashed the prices for its three highest end plans – from RM98 to RM78, RM148 to RM128, and RM238 to RM218 – while also upping the Internet quota for each plan by 3GB each, with the caveat that new users will need to sign up for the plans before June 30 to enjoy the promotional discounts. Existing Digi customers will also need to opt in to take advantage of the new promotions.
Two of the higher end offerings, the RM128 (9GB data, 3GB rollover) and RM218 (13GB, 5GB rollover) plans offer unlimited calls and SMS to all local networks.
Internet roaming
Internet roaming has also seen a revamp, with a focus on “budget travellers” and “frequent travellers”.
The budget option costs only RM10 with unlimited social messaging with apps such as Whatsapp and WeChat.
On the other hand, frequent travellers can opt for unlimited Internet roaming at RM36 which doesn’t count against the allocated local data quota.
The roaming offerings are only available for Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Australia.
All of the postpaid plans come with Music Freedom, which allows free music streaming, Capture cloud storage subscription and free access to iFlix video streaming service.
Lastly, the telco also announced the change to its supplementary line policy – users now have the option of choosing any of the new postpaid plans for the supplementary line user, instead of being restricted to the one postpaid call plan available previously.
