KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia kept alive their hopes of staying in Division One of the Asian Rugby Championship with an upset 42-17 win over Sri Lanka.

After losing 10-15 to the Philippines in their opening match on Sunday, Malaysia desperately needed a win at the Royal Selangor Club (RSC) in Bukit Kiara on Wednesday to remain in the top flight.
