Cassano in new bust-up with Capello

ROME: Temperamental Roma striker Antonio Cassano, who scored on his Italy debut last week, could be in hot water after falling out with coach Fabio Capello on Thursday.

Cassano stormed out of a training session after being excluded from a practice match at the club’s Trigoria base and could be dropped for tomorrow’s match at Bologna.

He refused to return when confronted by Capello, resulting in an angry exchange of words between the two in front of the rest of the squad.

Cassano is no stranger to controversy. The 21-year-old, who cost Roma 29mil euros when they bought him from Bari two years ago, clashed with Capello last season after being told he would not start a league game against Perugia.

He was also dropped from the Italy Under-21 side after a spat with coach Claudio Gentile.

Cassano made his full international debut last Wednesday in a 3-1 defeat away to Poland. – AFP
