Malaysian stuns defending champ in 1500m, breaks 12-year-old Games record


KUALA LUMPUR: Muhamad Ashraf Muhd Haisham upstaged defending champion Tran Van Duc of Vietnam to break the Asean Para Games record on his way to the gold in the men's 1500m T46 (amputation and others, including athletes with dwarfism) event.

He clocked a personal best of 4:24.73 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here on Wednesday, erasing the previous record of 4:27.90 set by Isidro Bildosola of the Philippines in Manila in 2005.
