KUALA LUMPUR: It was a mixed day for Malaysia on the third day of the Thailand Open Track and Field Championships in Bangkok.

While sprinter Khairul Hafiz Jantan failed to complete the sprint double, 17-year-old Grace Wong Xiu Mei came to the rescue by winning gold in the women’s hammer throw with a hurl of 57.49m at the Thammasat University Sports Complex yesterday.
