Lifeline for stage bus service

THE public had largely depended on stage buses for transport during the four decades after the end of Japanese Occupation in 1945 until the launch of the Proton Saga in 1985.

Public transportation took a back seat when the Government chose to promote a national car industry, which was met with success in its early years.
