KERFUFFLE. To me, that best describes the commotion the nation went through the last several weeks that climaxed on Saturday.
This was the street gathering organised by Umno and PAS that was initially to protest the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, now famously known as Icerd among Malaysians. But after the government backed down on its intention to ratify this 1965 UN convention, the rally was touted as a celebration of Malay rights.
