Fire truck fall kills 5 in northwest China


XI'AN, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A water tank fire truck overturned and fell into a river in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Friday, killing five and injuring one on board.

The accident occurred at around 10 a.m., when the truck was heading towards Baxian Township in Pingli County, according to local authorities.

Following the accident, rescue and follow-up disposal measures were initiated immediately. Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
