Massive fire destroys 10,000-litre diesel tanker in Lahad Datu

KOTA KINABALU: A 10,000-litre tanker carrying diesel was destroyed when it caught fire in Lahad Datu district on Monday (Aug 12).

No one was hurt, said the Fire and Rescue Department.

According to the department, they received a call at 4:07pm alerting them to an incident on a road near Taman Palm Height.

“A team of 16 from Lahad Datu fire station was sent to the location and arrived at 4.14pm.

“Also present for assistance were the police and a state Water Department personnel.

“The tanker was filled with diesel and was completely burnt,” said the department spokesman.
