Missing man found drowned in Sabah river


KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man who was reported missing while bathing in a river in Keningau district has been found drowned.

The victim, Mexweddle Patrick, 30, was said to have gone out for an afternoon dip at the Pagalan river on Sunday (April 14) before he went missing.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department officials said that the victim’s relatives noticed him missing at around 3pm.

According to the department, they received a distress call at 5.56am on Monday (April 15).

A search and rescue was mounted together with villagers, and the body was found at 7.41am, close to where the victim was last seen.

The body was handed over to the police for further action.

No other casualties were reported.
