Man cheats death after car bursts into flames while on the road

PASIR GUDANG: A man managed to escape from his car in the nick of time before it went up in flames while he was driving the vehicle near here.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department senior officer II Ibrahim Omar said the incident took place on Monday (Nov 8) at Flet Cendana, Pasir Gudang.

“The Johor Operations Department Centre received a distress call at 8.04am," he said in a statement.

Ibrahim said one Fire and Rescue Tender and an Emergency Medical Response Services vehicle were deployed to the scene.

“The operation was led by the Pasir Gudang senior officer II Razali Husin with 11 firemen,’’ he said.

Ibrahim said about 80% of the car was damaged in the fire.

The operation ended at around 8.30am and the case is still under investigation to determine the cause of the fire and losses.
