Sacked duo threaten to complain to RoS

PETALING JAYA: PKR National Youth has sacked its permanent chairman and deputy permanent chairman a week before the party’s national congress.

The duo – Muhamad Mizan Adli Mohd Nor and Mohd Ramly Ahmad – have now threatened to report the matter to the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

The wing, in a letter dated Nov 27, said it would re-elect news ones, a year after the duo held the positions.

It further stated that their services were terminated on the basis that they were above 35 and that they had received more votes than the number of delegates at last year’s PKR Youth National Convention.

The letter was signed by PKR National Youth secretary Ahmad Syukri Che Ab Razab.

Mizan said it was ridiculous to question his position and votes one year after the convention and just days before the next one on Friday.

“Check your records – the ones before me were also above 35 after they were elected.

“I was 35 when I was elected last year.

“Why the sacking when there are only six days more and why are you questioning decisions approved by the then PKR Election Committee after one whole year?” he asked.

Mizan said he was elected by the PKR Youth at the national congress and only the congress could strip him of his position.

“The PKR National Congress is the highest order of the party, higher than the fixed rules they are quoting in the letter of sacking.

“As the elected chairman of PKR National Youth, I will report such impropriety to the Registrar of Societies, ” he said in a statement.

PKR National Youth working secretary Faris Abdullah, whose name was stated as a point of reference in the letter, said the issue of relooking at the positions of Mizan and Ramly was brought up during its meeting on Sunday.

“The issue of re-election was raised as they were 35 and above when they were elected.

“PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir then brought this to the Central Council meeting on the same day, where they endorsed this (re-election), ” he said.
