Five cars razed in blaze in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: Five cars were engulfed in a dramatic blaze at the parking lot of Luyang Commercial Centre in Damai here, on Tuesday night (Dec 18).

Senior Officer II Rozam Shah Rahmat said a team of 11 firemen arrived at the scene at around 8.37pm after receiving a distress call seven minutes earlier.

"A Volkswagen and a BMW were completely destroyed in the fire.

"The blaze also caused damage to a Toyota Corolla, Toyota Vios and Proton Persona.

"The operation ended at about 10.04pm," he added.

Rozam said no one was hurt in the incident and that the forensic team was investigating the cause of the fire.
