Student, 14, found drowned in Sarawak


MIRI: A Form Two student, who went missing in a river in remote Oya Dalat district in interior Sarawak, was found drowned this morning (Nov 12).

Rabani Abdul Razak’s body was found floating in Sungai Kpg Terus in the Oya Dalat district at 8.30am by villagers.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, in its latest updates, said the villagers in the kampung alerted Bomba following the discovery of the body.

Bomba personnel from the nearest town of Mukah went to the site and retrieved the body from the river.

The teenage boy went missing on Saturday (Nov 10) afternoon, while he was believed to be fishing near the river.

A search and rescue mission had been activated since then by Bomba Mukah searchers.
