Driver burnt to death in car near parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was believed to have been burnt to death when the vehicle he was driving caught fire near the Parliament building here.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the man’s charred remains were found inside a Nissan Grand Livina vehicle yesterday.

He said the department received a distress call about five minutes after the 3am incident and deployed two engines from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station with nine personnel to the scene.

Khirudin said the identity of the victim had yet to be determined and the department had handed over the victim’s body to the police for further action. — Bernama
