TAMBUNAN: The charred remains of a man were found inside a burnt tanker lorry along Jalan Tambunan-Kota Kinabalu here on Wednesday (June 20).
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Katizah Rahaban said nine firemen from Tambunan were deployed to the scene after a distress call was received at around 2.3opm.
"The vehicle, which was used to transport diesel, was 70% burnt.
"The remains of the man were removed from the driver's seat and handed over to the police for further action," she explained.
Katizah said the identity of the deceased is still unknown.
The operation ended at 5.30pm and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
