Malaysian lecturer dies of heart attack at Oman Airport


KUALA TERENGGANU: A lecturer of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Dr Shahril Othman, died at the Oman International Airport on Thursday (March 22) afternoon (Oman time).

Dr Shahril, who was with UniSZA's Faculty of Islamic Studies and Contemporary (FKI), died of a heart attack while waiting for a flight home to Malaysia after finishing research work in Saudi Arabia with two other lecturers.

UniSZA said in a statement that Dr Shahril had served with UniSZA for 10 years from 2008 and leaves behind four children. He was also the Director of Residential Colleges Office (PKK) at UniSZA. 

"Dr Shahril's remains are still in Oman and are in the process of being sent back to Malaysia.

"All staff members of UniSZA expressed their condolences to all his family members," the statement added. - Bernama
