JOHOR BARU: A Chinese national was found dead in a house in Kahang on Saturday.
Kluang district police chief ACP Mohamad Laham said Wang Weihang, 37, was found dead by his 52-year-old Malaysian housemate at about 2pm.
ACP Mohamad said investigations revealed that Wang was a police officer in China.
and that he had been charged in the Kluang magistrate's court on Dec 12 last year under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act with causing death by reckless driving.
Following the charge, Wang was ordered to surrender his passport to the court pending the disposal of the case.
According to Wang's Malaysian housemate, he discovered the victim dead when he broke down the door of Wang's room after knocks and shouts went unanswered.
He said he had known Wang, who came to Malaysia in November last year, for seven years.
Police have classified the case as sudden death and Wang's body has been sent to Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital, Kluang, for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. - Bernama
