Ketamine middlemen nabbed with 2kg of drug in car

KUALA LUMPUR: Two suspected middlemen in a ketamine distribution ring were arrested with 2kg of the drug found in their car.

City police chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Lazim said the suspects, aged 25 and 41, were arrested on Oct 30 by a team of City Narcotic Crime Investigation Department near Jalan Gunung Semanggol.

"We found about 2kg of white powder believed to be ketamine in the car they were travelling in.

"We believe the two were middlemen who recieved RM5,000 each time they distribute the drugs to small time suppliers in the city," he told reporters on Friday (Nov 3).

He said the drugs have a street value of about RM100,000.

"We are working on finding the people who fired these two men to distribute the drugs.

"One of the suspects has four records for drug-related crimes," he said.

On another case, Comm Mazlan said a man was arrested in Jalan Wangsa Perdana with 236grams of heroin on Thursday (Nov 2).

"We found 150 packets containing the drugs on him," he said adding that the suspect was believed to be supplying the drugs within the Klang Valley.
