Final journey for YTL Corp founder Yeoh Tiong Lay


KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay's funeral cortege left the YTL Residence in Damansara Heights for his final resting place at the Nilai Memorial Park on Sunday.

The funeral procession of the YTL Group of Companies founder began at 1pm, after a service was held at the family's residence.

His eldest son Tan Sri Francis Yeoh, his grandchildren and close friend Datuk Lee Peng Hock delivered their eulogies during the service.

The Yeoh family also donated RM8mil to schools and non-governmental organisations.

The funeral procession passed YTL Group's landmark buildings in Sentul, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Bukit Bintang. Staff of JW Marriott and Starhill Gallery had also lined up outside the premises as a mark of respect.

Yeoh passed away at the age of 88 on Wednesday.

The business magnate is survived by his wife Puan Sri Tan Kai Yong, seven children, 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
