Fuel prices up by 1.4% to 1.7% this week

PETALING JAYA: Fuel prices for RON95 and RON97 will see a slight increase across the board from Thursday.

The price of RON95 petrol will go up three sen to RM2.15 per litre while RON97 will go up by four sen to RM2.43 per litre.

However, diesel will be reduced by two sen and priced at RM2.04 per litre.

This is the third straight week of increase after RON95 and RON97 went up by four sen. Diesel, however, saw a slight drop this week.

The new prices, which were announced on the official RTM1 Facebook page on Wednesday evening, will be in effect from 12.01 am on Aug 17 until Aug 23.

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism came into effect in April this year.

The prices of petrol and diesel had been placed on a managed monthly float system since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of fuel subsidies.
