Body of teenage girl found in burnt car outside Hartamas house

KUALA LUMPUR: A body of a teenage girl of Indian nationality was found in a burnt car in Jalan Changkat Hartamas 2, Hartamas Heights early Monday.

The body, which was also burnt, was found in a Hyundai car in front of the house of the girl's aunt at 4.22 am, said Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy.

He said the last time the aunt saw the 18-year-old girl was at 12.30am when she was lying down in the bedroom after having taken medication.

The girl had been studying on her own and living in the house since 2015, he said.

ACP Munusamy said police were waiting for the post-mortem report to determine if  the case had any criminal element or if it was an accident.

"A forensics team scoured the area but did not find anything that could be linked to the case,” he said in a statement.

The body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem. - Bernama
