Sabah wants tougher action against foreign fishing vessels

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah wants sterner action against encroaching fishing vessels to protect the state’s marine resources.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin said while there were sufficient laws to protect marine resources, it was up to the navy, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and marine police to effectively enforce them.
