Flash floods hit Penang


GEORGE TOWN: Several low-lying areas on Penang island were hit by flash floods Friday after several hours of heavy downpour.

Among the worst hit areas were Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Air Itam, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Lebuhraya Thean Teik.

As of now, heavy traffic was reported along Jalan Masjid Negeri and Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway heading towards Penang Bridge.

Several cars were also reported to be stalled along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
