PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry is monitoring the issue of insect-infested dates, after photos of dates contaminated with cockroaches and beetles went viral.
"The Health Ministry views this issue seriously and will monitor dates being sold in local markets to ensure they are safe for consumption," said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement on Saturday.
