ALOR SETAR: American singer Selena Gomez's concert in Shah Alam, Selangor last year was cited as one of the reasons why PAS Youth decided to cut ties with PKR.

Shah Alam PAS Youth delegate Aubidullah Fahim Ibrahim said PKR did nothing to protest or oppose the concert, which was held on July 25 last year in Shah Alam, a predominantly Muslim area.

PAS had protested against the concert being held, claiming Gomez's dressing was too sexy.

"They were excited about the Selena Gomez concert, disregarding views from PAS, Muslims and Muslim NGOs.

"This was an example of how PKR was not committed in strengthening Islam. This includes the Selangor Mentri Besar (PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali)," Aubidullah said at the PAS Youth muktamar here on Friday.

He was speaking in support of a motion to call for ties with PKR to be severed. The motion was approved unanimously.
