Rajnikanth thrilled to meet Najib

PETALING JAYA: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is thrilled to have met Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during the Prime Minister's official visit to India.

Rajinikanth posted a photo of him and Najib at his home on his official Twitter account.

"I am extremely happy to have met an excellent, friendly and warm person today, the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia," he tweeted Friday.

Photos of the actor and the Prime Minister taking a selfie together have gone viral amongst Rajnikanth fans on Twitter.

Najib had also tweeted about his "warm and friendly" meeting with Rajnikanth.

Rajinikanth had expressed a desire to meet Najib when he was in Malaysia last year to shoot parts of his hit movie Kabali.

Najib is currently on the second day of his five-day official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The trip will see him touring Chennai, New Delhi and Jaipur from March 30 to April 4, and it is aimed at fostering further cooperation between the two countries in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both nations.
