Jobless man jailed for forcibly kissing enforcement officer


KUALA LUMPUR: A jobless man was jailed seven months by a magistrate's court here for kissing a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement female officer on her lips last year.

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som jailed Cesar Jamanulla, 35, after he admitted to the charge on Wednesday.

He was accused of molesting the 28-year-old officer in front of Hotel Ansa in Bukit Bintang here at 7.20pm on Feb 20 last year and was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code.

Based on the facts of the case, the victim and her male colleague, were patrolling an apartment area to issue summonses on vehicle owners who committed offences when suddenly a man prevented her from issuing a summons.

Cesar made a remark to the enforcement officer, telling her she was pretty but when told not to prevent her from doing her job, he grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips.

In asking for leniency, the accused he had to support his family.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin asked for a deterrent sentence against the accused.
