Unsound man arrested for molesting three women

ALOR SETAR: A man believed to be mentally unsound outraged the modesty of three women before police nabbed him.

The arresting officer found a psychiatric ward treatment card from Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital on the man but Kubang Pasu police chief Supt Abd Hadi Hassan said the man would still be investigated for molestation.

“He started his molesting spree at 9am yesterday in Jitra,” said Supt Abd Hadi.

“First, he put his hands around the waist of a 22-year-old woman while she was parking her motor- cycle.

“She ran into a restaurant for safety and lodged a police report,” he said.

Policemen began hunting for the man immediately after the first report and shortly after that, he caressed the shoulder of a 23-year-old woman.

“The woman screamed and scolded the suspect.

“He then grabbed the buttocks of a 24-year-old woman who stopped at a traffic lights junction.

“The third woman scolded him too. He smiled and tried to repeat the act before fleeing,” said Supt Abd Hadi.

The other women also lodged reports and police found the man loitering about 500m from the vicinity of the first incident.
