Chong Wei wins fourth All-England title


PETALING JAYA: National shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei won his fourth All-England badminton championships title on Sunday.

Chong Wei, who won the title previously in 2010, 2011 and 2014 defeated youngster Shi Yuqi of China easily 21-12 and 21-10 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.

Chong Wei had previously beaten the Chinese shuttler - ranked as the world No.10 - at the 2015 Canada Open and the 2016 Japan Open.

Earlier on, Malaysia’s mixed doubles pairing of Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying lost 21-18, 19-21 and 16-21 to China’s Lu Kai-Huang Yaqiong.
