Chinese tourists involved in catamaran tragedy ‘followed the book’


KOTA KINABALU: The 28 Chinese tourists involved in the Jan 28 catamaran tragedy had no knowledge that the jetty they left from was illegal despite booking from legitimate tour agents

They also did not know that they had boarded an overloaded catamaran which resulted in the tragedy that claimed four lives, with five still missing, China’s consul-general here, Chen Peijie, said.
